Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting 2017

Foreign ministers from across the Commonwealth will meet in New York to discuss reforms to the Commonwealth. The 16th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting (CFAMM) takes place on 21 September 2017.

It will be held alongside the United Nations General Assembly and gives ministers the chance to discuss joint priorities in areas including, preparations for next year’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), climate change and the blue economy.

Agenda

  • Ministers will examine the reforms which have taken place in the Commonwealth Secretariat;  
  • Ministers will be updated on preparations for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), which is being held in London in April 2018; 
  • Ministers will review the 2015 CHOGM mandates; 
  • Ministers will receive an update regarding the issue of Belize’s and Guyana’s territorial integrity.
