Anti-corruption

Corruption is a complex social, political and economic phenomenon that affects all countries.

For over two decades, the Commonwealth has assisted governments to tackle corruption by supporting the sharing of best practices, undertaking training and capacity-building, and conducting policy research.

Commonwealth Legal Tools for anti-corruption include Model Legislative Provisions on Money Laundering, Terrorism Financing, Preventive Measures and Proceeds of Crime, as well as a Model Act on Integrity in Public Life. Building on these tools, work is currently underway on examining options for the development of Commonwealth benchmarks for the prevention of corruption.
